It’s time for July’s Birch Box! I’ve been a little behind blogging so I just recently posted June’s box.
Here is what was in my Beachy and Bright Box-
Juara- Radiance Enzyme Scrub-
This is a 8 m.l. sample size and the full size retails for $38. It appears to be a gentle exfoliating scrub that helps to minimize your pores. It is to be used 1-2 times weekly and should be left on for 1-3 minutes before being rinsed off. I am going to give this one a try mostly because if it can minimize my pores than I’m all in! The only downside for me, is the smell. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is but it just reminds me of a bathroom cleaner…. Yuck!
Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray-
This is a spray to be used on one’s hair to give it a texturized beach waviness to it. It is said to provide your hair with hydration and boost shine. This is a 37 m.l. sample and a full size retails for $22-$39. I will more than likely not be using this because it has a terribly strong cologne like smell. Wearing this will probably do nothing more than give me a headache.
Supergoop! Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Birch Box must really like Supergoop! This is my 2nd box and both of them contained a sunscreen by Supergoop! What’s up with that? This is a 10 m.l. sample size and a full size retails for $42. I tend to be a little vampire(ish) and don’t get out in the sun too often. I haven’t even needed to use the first Supergoop! that was in my first Birch Box! Who knows when I’ll get around to using either one?
stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Bella
This lipstick comes in a set of 3 that retails for $20. The Birch Box only contained 1 of the 3. The color is a beautiful bright magenta/pink. I unfortunately can not get away with wearing this color. It’s a little too bright. I did put it on to test it out and found that it goes on really wet like a lip gloss. While it’s in the wet stage it tends to get everywhere and immediately was all over my teeth! Sexy! After a few minutes it does dry out and manage to stay on and keep it’s color tone. It also does seem to transfer to things like cups while drinking.
theBalm Cosmetics Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush
in Take a Dip
This bronzer blush is a really great color, I almost wish it was eye shadow. The packaging is really cute and makes it easy to take on the go with you. This is a sample size and a full size retails for $21. At first thought, I didn’t think I could get away with this color. It seemed a little too dark but after playing around with it I might be able to get away with it. As long as I put it on correctly, which is always hit or miss!!
That concludes the contents of the Beachy and Bright Box by Birch Box. Overall I am not totally thrilled with the contents and have found some of them I won’t really be able to use. At this point, having received 2 boxes through Birch Box, I am still preferring Ipsy and will need to re-evaluate whether or not I will continue with my subscription.
What did you think of the contents? Would you continue with the subscription?
